Good afternoon Year 2,
In English this week, the children enjoyed learning prefixes
and suffixes and they practised a sats paper.
Next week the children will sit
their sats paper, (the children will think it is another practise, so they are
unaware and will not worry).
In maths the children learnt and completed activities of the
properties of 3D shapes and we revisited fractions and symmetry.
Next week we will create lessons on questions children were
unsure of on a practise paper.
Pre-Learning: recall
multiplication of 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
In science the children explained and drew the life cycle of
plants along with understanding plants are living things.
Next week the children will find out and describe how plants
need water, light and a suitable temperature to grow and stay healthy by comparing
the growth of seeds under different conditions.
In RE the children learnt about charities ‘Christian aid’.
Next week the children will have a discussion on why we need
rules and explore why do we need rules in school.
Spellings for next Friday are:
Group 1: girl, drew, Mr, Mrs
Group 2: don’t do not, shouldn’t should not, can’t cannot, I’ll
I will, didn’t did not, isn’t is not,
could’ve
could have, we’ll we will.
Have a great weekend
Mrs Beadle
