Hello, we have had another very busy, fun week in
Year 2.
Please see our ‘odd socks’ photos from anti
bullying week which we discussed 'One kind word' throughout the week.
This week the children have been extremely creative
and enjoyed sewing and creating their hand puppets.
The children had lots of fun role playing the story of Rama and Sita in the Diwali workshop and they enjoyed practising their lines and
song for Christmas performance.
Next week
In English, the children will create a recount, this will be on the book ‘Dogger’. The children will describe the
character’s feelings, create a wanted poster along with creating a recount
using adverbs of time and conjunctions to extend their sentence writing.
In maths, the children will be doubling numbers and
finding the nearest multiple of 10 along with selecting objects priced in pounds and to identify to the nearest pound.
In science, we will research the inventor Charles Macintosh.
We will be practising our phonics daily in
preparation for the phonics assessment and at the end of the day the children
will be practising their lines and dances for the Christmas performance.
There will be no
spellings on the blog this week as we are introducing a new system which we
will be using in class over the next 2 weeks.
Have a great weekend
From the Year 2 team
