Good afternoon all, it has been a busy but fun week back!
In English the children role played
the story of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff‘ using recurring language, we also
discussed the punctuation in the story. They created a detailed storyboard and
sequenced the story.
Next week, the children will start to
write their own version of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. They will change the
characters and recurring language along with including commas and exclamation
marks. We will also discuss speech marks to use in their recurring sentences.
In maths, the children learnt pictograms,
tally charts, block graphs, tables and comparing amounts. The
children discussed the graphs in detail and answered questions to consolidate
their learning.
Next week, the children will be applying
their increasing knowledge of mental and written methods by using place value
and number facts to solve problems with addition and subtraction.
In history we started our new topic
on ‘The Great Fire of London’ and the children are really enjoying learning
about London and when are where is started.
Next week, the children will be
learning the events of the Great Fire of London.
In science, we looked at life cycles
and discussed how animals and humans change as they grow.
Next week, the children will describe
and draw pictures of the process.
In art, the children designed their fruit
kebab.
Next week, we will be discussing
healthy eating and how fruits grow.
