Good afternoon,
The children have been practising their songs for their Christmas
performance at the end of each day and are doing wonderfully.
In English, the children have been enjoying the story of Goldilocks. Our classroom porridge keeps disappearing
and different items are being moved, which has added lots of excitement! This
has helped the children develop their use of adjectives and deepen their
understanding of Goldilocks’ character as they create their wanted posters.
Next Week’s Learning
English – The children will write their own story
using a range of sentence openers, explore events from different points of
view, and compare two versions of the same story.
Maths – The children will complete assessments on the topics taught during Year 2.
Geography – We will continue learning about life
in a hot place, exploring local weather conditions and identifying the features
of hot and cold climates.
Throughout the week, we will also
be practising our performance of Bethlehem’s
Buzzin’.
Spellings for next Friday are:
Group 1 – so, with, and, be
Group 2 – cry, fly, dry, try, reply, sly,
shy, terrify, sky, multiply
Have a wonderful long weekend!
From the Year 2 Team
