Wow, it’s Friday again!
We have had a busy and enjoyable week rehearsing for our Christmas
performance, and the children have been practising their lines and songs during
their English lessons.
In maths, the children learnt the properties of 3-D shapes
and lines of symmetry. They enjoyed searching for 2-D and 3-D shapes around the
classroom and describing their properties.
Next week, we will continue exploring 2-D and 3-D shapes, focusing
on their edges and vertices and creating repeating patterns.
The children also challenged themselves by independently learning
a range of sewing techniques to use when creating their puppets. Please see the
photos below.
English – Comparing three different versions of Goldilocks, identifying
adjectives to describe her character, creating a wanted poster and sequencing
the original story.
Science – Investigating how to make paper waterproof.
Geography – Learning about life in a hot place, exploring local weather
conditions and identifying features of hot and cold climates.
PSHE – Understanding that our differences make each of us special and
unique.
D&T – Designing a glove puppet.
Computing – Digital photography
Spellings for next Friday are:
Group 1 – of, but, this, went, to.
Group 2 – pencil,
fossil, nostril, pupil, metal, pedal, capital, hospital, animal, oval.
Have a wonderful weekend.
