Hello to all!

This week in English, the children have enjoyed learning about the importance of our Earth. We discussed some of the problems our planet faces and explored possible solutions. The children used this knowledge and created an informative leaflet, making sure to include conjunctions, question marks and exclamation marks in their writing. Next week, we will start our new class book centred on Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

In maths, the children took part in a range of activities to strengthen their understanding on adding and subtracting tens to two-digit numbers. They also practised solving addition and subtraction problems finding the missing number, we will continue this topic next week.

Next week

Geography – Research the coldest places on Earth.

Science – Exploring sculptures and the materials used to make them.

RE – To learn about how Hanukah is celebrated.

ICT – Learning about digital photography, focusing on landscape and portrait images.

D&T – Designing and creating a hand puppet.

 Spellings for Friday are:

With, who, she, table, apple, little, middle, able, wobble, dazzle.

Have a lovely weekend, hopefully we’ll see many of you at the fireworks!

From the Year 2 team.
