Friday 20 May 2022

Hello all!

The children were extremely creative with their moving vehicles and are looking forward to racing them. Unfortunately, due to the weather today we have postponed this event until next week!

In English the children enjoyed creating their own character and writing a detailed story using descriptive language along with connectives and correct punctuation based on Baboon on the moon .

In maths the children solved lots of problems using fractions.

Next week, will be centred on the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

In English, the children will create poems on the Queen, write a time line of her key events and write a message for our time capsule.

In maths, the children will be learning the time to the nearest 5 minutes including quarter past/to the hour.

Within our art lessons, the children will design a plate and create a flag.

Friday is a non-uniform day. The children should wear red, white and blue to help celebrate the Queen's Jubilee at Little Heath.  I hope to see you all on Friday afternoon for the Jubilee celebrations. Just to remind you it is not a picnic, so please do not bring food. There will be, however, some drinks refreshments to buy. The celebrations will be on the field so I would recommend bringing a blanket or something to sit on.

Reminder – sharing assembly is on Monday for Bella, Samuel, Henry, Freya, Aisha and Fatima.

Spellings for Friday are:

was, you, they, on, she

word, work, worm, world, worth, wheel

worse, wriggled, winner, worthless.

Have a great weekend

Friday 13 May 2022

 Happy sunny Friday!

The children have worked fantastically hard completing their SATS papers throughout the week and I am extremely proud of them. ( I told them the tests are to help me with my planning, so they did not worry about them).

Next week, during the mornings the children will build, create, paint and decorate their moving vehicles along with building the chassis and adding the wheels using a glue gun which I will be assisting with (one child at a time). Once the vehicles are finished the children will evaluate their moving vehicles against their original design and we will have a race.

In the afternoons the children will learn the story of 'Baboon on the moon' and they will write their own descriptive story using correct punctuation, connectives, adjectives and adverbs.

In science we will continue to observe and discuss the growth of the sunflowers planted both inside and outside of the classroom.

Please see below spellings which the children can choose to learn for Friday:

in, her, I, of, it

illness, sadness, kindness, enjoyment, payment, amazement

quietness, closeness, measurement, entertainment

Have a great weekend

The children have worked very hard this week and they have enjoyed designing in detail their moving vehicles (thank you very much for the boxes).

Next week, the children will sit their English and maths SATS papers, (the children will think it is another practise, so they are unaware and will not worry).
