Happy Friday everyone!

We have had an extremely busy day today and I apologise the children’s orange reading record books are still on the step in the classroom. The books have been uploaded to the system and I will hand the reading records out on Monday.

The children thoroughly enjoyed designing and creating their finger puppets. They took great care when cutting out the fabric and loved decorating them, please see below their finger puppets.

In English, the children have worked extremely hard on their information leaflets about how special our Earth is. The children wrote factual sentences describing environmental problems and possible solutions.

In maths, the children have been learning the properties of 2-D and 3-D shapes.

Next week we will be learning:

English – the children will practising for their Christmas performance.

Maths – the children will learn lines of symmetry in a shape and count the faces on 3-D shapes.

PSHE – reinforce how we work together, the children will create friendship tokens

D&T – the children will learn different sewing techniques to use when creating a puppet.

Geography – the children will find where is the equator?

Science – the children will explore what materials are required to build a rocket.

Following on the topic of puppets, I would like the children to create a moving puppet of their choice. The children are very excited to create their Hand puppet in school and have shared some wonderfully imaginative ideas. I look forward to seeing their moving puppet and hearing them talk about the character they created and the materials they used.

Date for the puppets to be in by please is the Monday 15th December 2025.

Spellings for next Friday are:

Group 1 – they, but, this, went, because.

Group 2 – camel, tunnel, squirrel, travel, towel, tinsel, bagel, hazel, vowel, jewel

Have a lovely weekend!
