Hello,
We have had another very busy
productive week in Year 2 and the time has flown by!
In English the children enjoyed performing Rapunzel and created detailed sentences including conjunctions and adjectives.
Next week, the children will write their own version
of Rapunzel. The children will change the characters and setting along with
including conjunctions and adjectives in their story.
In maths the children used a variety
of resources and applied different strategies learnt to solve their sums. They
particularly enjoyed explored odd and even numbers.
Next week, the children will be
regrouping tens and ones using objects, tens frames and coins.
Next week
Science
We will be discussing natural
materials and the children will walk around the school grounds collecting objects
to create a collage.
History
Mr Berridge was unable to attend last
week, therefore on Tuesday he will visit the class and discuss the history of
the school.
RE
We will continue our lesson from last
week on Christianity and the children will write in full sentences the meaning
of the symbols including water and light.
Art
The children will create an
observational drawing.
PSHE
The focus will be to work well and
help others cooperatively.
ICT
Mathseeds and mathletics
Spellings for next Friday are:
Group 1: of, it, was, you.
Group 2: poor, floor, door, fine,
mind, behind.
We will be attending two fun mornings next
week,
Tuesday morning a drama workshop will be in school.
Friday morning we are invited to Christchurch
for Harvest Festival.
